Main Street Montrose Art Galleries


Montrose Center for the Arts features a 4,500 sqft gallery space

There’s more to the Montrose visual art scene than first meets the eye. Take a stroll around historic downtown and you’ll be greeted with painted murals tucked between alleyways, pockets of public art, eclectic shops and unassuming galleries sprinkled across Main Street.


For a small town like Montrose, the breadth of work on display between Hillcrest and Rio Grand Avenue will beguile art lovers and entice shoppers. Take a walk and spend an afternoon supporting our local makers and creators, whether you’re new to town or new to the vibrant world of art appreciation. Here are a few places you can’t miss.


Healthy Rhythm Creative Group is an eclectic art gallery and intimate gathering space for live performances featuring one-of-a-kind collectible prints and other artwork ranging from wood pieces to illustrations. It is open Thursday through Sunday along with select evenings for events, such as upcoming fall performances by musicians Alicia Stockman, Jack Yoder, John Hewitt and more.


HOURS: Thursday-Saturday from 12:30-5:30pm


Mosaic is the home to a unique mix of contemporary art, handcrafted goods, hand-picked vintage items, and a do-it-yourself creative studio. Support your local makers, bakers and artists and find unique and quality items. Every month Mosaic features a new artist on their gallery wall with the opening night on the First Friday of the month from 4-7pm.


HOURS: Tuesday-Saturday from 11am–5:30pm


Montrose Center for the Arts features a 4,500 sqft gallery space that is brought to life with a diverse range of paintings, sculptures, woodwork, and photography from over 40 artists. Works are rotated and refreshed frequently and First Friday events celebrate local artists with a gallery viewing, live music, along with tidbits and specialty drinks.


HOURS: Tuesday-Saturday from 11am–4pm


Cimarron Song Gallery brings carefully crafted displays of artworks from some of the finest painters across the United States, including Gregory Packard, Ralph Oberg, Shirley Novak and Julee Hutchison. The gallery accommodates numerous artistic tastes, with exceptional pieces ranging from contemporary to abstract.
